Ron co-sponsored legislation that protect our schools from gangs and sexual predators. He worked to ensure our public schools are fully funded and that the funds flow more directly to the classrooms. He built a bi-partisan coalition that fought off an attempt to change the funding formula for Charter Schools that would have ended their success in helping minority and lower income children. He killed a bill in committee that would have redefined homeschooling, taking away many of the choices that parents have proven best for their individual children. He co-sponsored the BOAST tax credit for which allowed for private assistance in school construction, books and other expenses. He fought for schools to start after Labor Day, something that would not pass until Governor Hogan made it happen.
